writing

First, listen to the instructions Lilly is going to give you:

· Where is this person?
· What problem has he/she got?
· How will he/ she solve it?

Remember that to write your story, you have to do a draft to put your ideas in order.
Later, don't forget to use connectors! ( and, but, then, later... )
Have fun creating your story! The best one will be published in the school's newspaper! :)

Speaking Activity

This activity has been designed to create a class debate/ discussion about behaviour. We sometimes find that as teachers, we worry a lot about the content, but since we are working with kids, many things are going on in the classroom and sometimes you have to spend more time talking about other issues rather than teaching. So this activity deals with ways of reacting to certain attitudes and how to solve problems.

Watch "Partly Cloudy" by Pixar and answer the following questions:

General questions:
  • What do the clouds give to the storks?
  • Name some of the animals that you could see?
  • What feelings can you see in the video?

Questions about behaviour:

  • Are all the storks happy? Why? Why not?
  • Are all the clouds happy? Why? Why not?
  • Is the helmet helpful?
  • How does the cloud react to the stork leaving?
  • Do you think this is a good solution? Why? Why not?
  • When you don't agree with a classmate, what do you do? How do you feel?

Listening Activity

Listen to "What the Ladybird said" by Julia Donaldson.

Then, answer the following questions in your groups:

  • What are the animals in the farm?
  • What are the sounds of the animals? Can you pronounce them?
  • What sound does the ladybird?
  • What does the ladybird see?
  • What did the thieves want to steal? What is their plan?
  • What happens when the thieves enter the farm? Do all the animals make their sounds?
  • Why don’t the thieves steal the “fine prize cow”?
